Scrap Senate: President Buhari's nominee tells senate





A nominee of president Muhammadu Buhari for the position of national commissioner of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Aliyu Abubakar has said that the senate should be scrapped.
Mr. Abubakar told senators, before whom he appeared for screening on Wednesday. He was nominated to represent the north Easton the NCC board.
Mr. Abubakar was among those who participated in the #OccupyNass campaign, months ag, seeking end to bicameral legislature, scrapping the senate and removal of Bukola Saraki as senate President due to his corruption trial at the code of conduct tribunal.
“ the senate receives huge amount of money for transport, wardrobe allowances and they purchase expensive cars all in public purse” he also added , “ the senate is an avenue for wastage of scarce economic resources of the country” – premium times.
