Former chairman, house committee on
Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa has filed a law suit at the Federal High
court, Abuja on Friday against the leadership of the house, jibrin filed the
suit shortly after he withdrew the previous suit.
Jibrin is
seeking 1bn naira as damages for his suspension. Mr. jibrin has made serious
allegations against the speaker, Hon Yakubu Dogara, his Deputy, Hon. Yusuf
Lasun, Chief whip, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Minority leader, Leo Ogor, and
nine other members accusing them of padding the 2016 budget.
In the fresh
suit, he urged the court to declare to declare his suspension as violation of
his fundamental right to freedom of expression.
He prayed to
court to declare that the resolution passed by the the House of Representatives
suspending him was in breach of Section 68 of the constitution as amended.
Justice John
Tsoho has fixed Nov. 22 for hearing the suit.
